Common questions
Why does 36 hours become PT36H instead of a day and 12 hours?
The tool encodes elapsed time in hours, minutes and seconds. Calendar days may have different elapsed lengths around time-zone changes, so no calendar day or month conversion is inferred.
Do daylight-saving changes affect calendar date results?
Date-only operations compare Gregorian calendar dates at UTC midnight. They do not count local elapsed hours. Timestamp operations require an explicit offset; individual tool assumptions state boundary rules.
How does the Hours to ISO 8601 time duration tool work?
Round hours to the nearest whole second, then serialize total hours, minutes and seconds as PTnHnMnS; zero is PT0S.
What are the assumptions and limits of Hours to ISO 8601 time duration?
Nonnegative time duration only, rounded to seconds. Hours are not converted to calendar days or months; leap seconds are excluded.
